Mobile detailing and ceramic coating FAQ
Use these answers to compare services, understand quote requirements, and prepare for a mobile appointment on Oʻahu.
Service area & mobile service
Where Luxe works and what a mobile appointment needs on site.
Where does Luxe Detailing Hawaii provide mobile detailing?
At homes and workplaces across Oʻahu, with Honolulu as the primary market. Before an appointment is confirmed, the booking concierge uses Google Maps to verify that the service location is on Oʻahu.
What does mobile detailing mean?
The service is performed at your home or workplace instead of a drop-off shop. You need legal parking and entry access, an accessible working exterior water faucet, and a safe standard electrical outlet within practical reach of the vehicle, unless another setup is agreed in advance.
What do I need to provide for a mobile detail?
Make the vehicle and the verified location accessible, remove valuables, confirm parking or building permission, and provide a working exterior faucet and a standard outlet within reach. If either is unavailable, contact Luxe Detailing Hawaii before booking so the setup can be reviewed.
Pricing & booking
Starting prices, quotes, and how the deposit works.
How much does mobile detailing cost?
Maintenance Reset starts at $199 for vehicles already in reasonably clean condition. Gloss & Protect starts at $349.99. Ceramic coating estimates start at $899 for a small car, with SUV and larger-vehicle adjustments shown before checkout. Advanced paint correction is quoted based on condition.
Is a deposit required to book mobile detailing?
Yes. A secure $50 deposit through Stripe reserves a live appointment and is credited toward the final total. It may be kept for cancellations or reschedules made less than 24 hours before the appointment, no-shows, or inaccessible service sites under the booking terms, unless Luxe agrees otherwise or the law requires.
Ceramic coating & paint correction
How protection and correction differ, and what each one includes.
How is ceramic coating different from wax or sealant?
Wax and sealant usually need renewing more often. Ceramic coating is applied after careful surface preparation and is part of a longer-term paint-care plan. The right choice depends on paint condition, parking, maintenance habits, and budget.
Is paint correction included with every ceramic coating?
No. The 5-year coating starts without machine polishing, and the 8-year coating includes a one-step paint enhancement. Preparation beyond the selected package is discussed on the confirmation call before the final quote and appointment are approved.
Can detailing help with salt, sand, water spots, and oxidation?
Many common Oʻahu concerns, yes. The right process depends on the surface and the severity. Water spots, oxidation, stains, or paint defects may need an evaluation and a specialized service instead of a standard maintenance detail.
Timing & maintenance
How long service takes, the membership, and caring for a coating.
How long will my service take?
It depends on vehicle size, condition, location, service, and enhancements. The live calendar reserves a block designed for mobile service, and the actual working time is matched to the vehicle rather than promised as a fixed length.
Can I join the monthly maintenance membership right away?
The $149.99 monthly membership is for vehicles already in reasonably clean, maintenance-ready condition. Other vehicles first need the appropriate standard-priced detail, and then eligibility can be confirmed.
How do I maintain a ceramic-coated vehicle?
Use coating-safe washing, remove salt and contaminants promptly, and avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning. Luxe Detailing Hawaii can recommend a maintenance approach for how and where the vehicle is driven and parked.
